Police investigating early evening fatal vehicle accident in Elk Grove

Elk Grove Police are investigating a single-vehicle accident that killed a motorist on the early evening of Friday, July 5.
According to the police report, patrol officers responded to an accident that occurred on West Stockton Boulevard between Kyler Road and Whitelock Parkway at approximately 6:49 p.m. The driver and solo occupant of a Nissan SUV was driving north on West Stockton Boulevard when the driver drifted over the southbound lane, colliding into the field on the west side of the roadway.
Officers and medical personnel arrived and immediately began rendering aid. The female driver of the Nissan succumbed to her injuries and passed away at the scene.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will make identification of the deceased.
UPDATE
The Sacramento County Cororner has identified the victim as Melita Gancenia Geronimo, 70, of Elk Grove.
