Three day closure of Bond Road Union Pacific rail crossing

The Union Pacific rail crossing on Bond Road in Elk Grove has frequently experienced
service failures affecting traffic. | 

Elk Grove pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists will encounter a significant road closure and detour starting this weekend.

From Saturday, August 24, to Monday, August 26, Union Pacific Railroad will conduct repair work to the railroad crossing at Bond Road, which will require a full road closure. Weekend motorists should plan for additional travel time and use detours onto Elk Grove Boulevard or Sheldon Roads via Elk Grove Florin Road or Waterman Road during the closure.
