A press release issued yesterday afternoon by the governor's office said that Gov. Gavin Newsom and California Attorney General Rob Bonta will hold a news conference today providing an update on the fair housing lawsuit against Elk Grove.
Although the press release did not give specifics, it said the following:
"Governor Newsom and Attorney General Bonta will hold a joint press
conference to provide an update on the state's lawsuit against the city
of Elk Grove. Read more about the action Governor Newsom and Attorney
General Bonta have taken to hold Elk Grove accountable."
Given that the statement did not mention a settlement or include Elk Grove officials like Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen, it could be interpreted that the state's lawsuit against the city will continue. Furthermore, if the lawsuit continues, the city's settlement with Oak Rose developer Excelerate Housing could be in jeopardy.
Also, the statement includes a link to the original announcement about the Oak Rose Lawsuit.
The session starts at 10:30 a.m. and can be viewed at the following links:

If you were to snip the highlights of the last week of our city council - it reads, "We want a huge pay raise while we watch the Governor and AG pursue litigation against our direct actions" - Good Job City Council!
