UPDATED After closed session, the Cosumnes Community Services District reportedly accepts general manager's resignation

UPDATED October 9, 11:30 am |

After a special closed-session meeting today, the five-member Cosumnes Community Service District Board of Directors has accepted Phil Lewis' resignation as the district's general manager.

The meeting agenda was posted yesterday at 10 a.m. and adjourned early this afternoon. It contained one item - the general manager's performance evaluation.

The CCSD manages the Cosumnes Fire Department and most parks and recreation activities in Elk Grove. Mr. Lewis has been with the district since 2020 and was promoted to general manager in May 2023.

As of this posting, the CCSD has not responded to requests for detailed information regarding the separation.

UPDATE October 9, 11:30 a.m.

A press release from the CCSD regarding Mr Lewis's separation as the district general manager said the Board of Directors has appointed District Counsel Sigrid Asmundson as acting general manager. The statement also said the district will conduct a recruitment for Lewis' permanent replacement.
