Have Some Fries with the Good Guys

No hamburglar here, just a chance to connect with officers from the Elk Grove Police Department. Stop in to McDonalds at 8361 Sheldon Road this Wednesday, November 20, from 4-6 p.m. for a salty snack and some sweet time with Elk Grove’s crime fighting team.

Youth Commission Seeks Student Feedback

This is the last week to contribute to a Needs Assessment Survey released by the Elk Grove Youth Commission. This group wants to better understand the needs and interests of local teens. This feedback will help Commissioners plan future events and programs. But act fast! The survey closes on Friday, November 22. Share this Link with An Elk Grove Teen You Know.

Help Name a Park in Elk Grove

Do you have a name that honors Elk Grove’s history, celebrates someone important, or reflects the area's geography or environment? Now’s your chance to leave a lasting legacy by naming one of five new parks! Submit your idea by Sunday, December 1

Considering Life in the Fast Lane

The City of Elk Grove, in partnership with SacRT, is working to increase mobility options for residents and visitors. The City is exploring providing high-frequency transit service to connect Elk Grove to the larger Sacramento region. You can contribute to the project by sharing your feedback on the Blue Line/Bus Rapid Transit to Elk Grove Implementation Plan (Project). Weigh in on local alignment, where stations should be located, and other station planning elements. Take the survey before if closes on Saturday, November 30. Take the Survey.

Send a Holiday Smile

The holidays can be a lonely time for older residents without family. The City partners with senior living facilities to identify seniors who could use some holiday cheer. Since 2020, the Send a Smile project has distributed holiday greeting cards to nearly 3,000 Elk Grove seniors. Here’s how you can help:

  • Pick up a card-making kit at City Hall by December 16, or while supplies last. Kits include everything you need to craft a special holiday wish—pre-addressed stamped envelope, cardstock, and stickers.
  • Decorate and customize your card and drop it in the mail to do its magic.

Teachers and service clubs can request up to 35 cards. Contact Tamara Clarke, our Send a Smile Head Elf, at tclarke@elkgrovecity.org for questions or more information.

Start Thanksgiving with the Elk Grove Gobble Wobble Family 5K

Start your holiday out right by giving back to your community—with a fun run! Bring your family and friends out to run, walk, or wobble a 5k! Little turkeys 12 and under can participate in the half mile Kids’ Fun Run. All event proceeds benefit Chicks in Crisis, a non-profit 501(c)3, that offers pregnancy, parenting, adoption, and educational services. Register online.

Join the Holiday Parade of Lights

The Parade of Lights is a cherished Elk Grove tradition. Make merry memories with friends and family by participating in this year’s parade on Saturday, December 7 at 6 p.m. Parade entries are being accepted through Tuesday, December 3. Submit your entry

The Holiday Parade of Lights is hosted by the Elk Grove Lions Club and presented by Sutter Health, weather permitting.
