Elk Grove Planning Commission meeting, December 5, 2024

Although records are not kept, the Elk Grove Planning Commission meeting on Thursday, December 5, might have been one of the shortest in city history. The meeting convened and was over in less than 15 minutes.

The only hearing was "to consider proposed General Plan and Municipal Code Text Amendments (the "Amendments") that would provide exceptions to allow the construction of non-habitable structures and public infrastructure such as trails, non-habitable maintenance facilities, and similar equipment to be within the 100-year floodplain on a case-by-case basis when such construction will not result in upstream or downstream flooding impacts."

The amendment to the general plan was adopted 5 -0.

Tonight's meeting is the last one for 2024. The December 19 and January 2, 2025 meetings have been cancelled.

Does this mean we can get a drive-in movie theater built on the flood plain? Now that's a way to bring people to Elk Grove.
