Rosielyn Pulmano Thompson, 40, of Elk Grove, has been appointed deputy secretary of business and consumer policy at the California Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency. 

Pulmano Thompson has been principal consultant for the California State Assembly Committee on Health since 2012. She was senior consultant for the California State Senate Committee on Business, Professions and Economic Development from 2008 to 2012 and senior consultant for the California State Assembly Committee on Health from 2004 to 2008. 

Prior to that Pulmano Thompson was a senior consultant for the California State Assembly Committee on Arts and Entertainment from 2002 to 2004 and an assistant at the California State Assembly Speaker’s Office Democratic Floor Alert from 2001 to 2002. Pulmano Thompson earned a Juris Doctor degree from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $129,996. 

Pulmano Thompson is a Democrat.
