At the Monday night meeting of Elk Grove GRASP, the executive director of a leading agricultural advocacy group will be the guest speaker.

That speaker is Mary Kimball of the Winters, Calif.-based Center For Land-Based Learning. Founded by Kimball in 1998, the CFLBL advocates for agricultural and conservation and sponsors a variety of programs ranging from urban farming to youth education.

Monday's meeting will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Carlton Plaza of Elk Grove, 6915 Elk Grove Blvd. Parking is available at the adjacent Nugget Market lot.

In addition to the Kimball's presentation, there will be a briefing on Elk Grove's General Plan Update and a discussion on the future of farming in the area.
