Broussard Holds Campaign Rally For Elk Grove Mayoral Candidacy

Although his political opponents may have greater visibility, Elk Grove mayoral candidate Joel Broussard told supporters at Friday night rally to remember this day.

Broussard, a political novice, is one of three candidates hoping to become Elk Grove's next mayor when voters go the polls this November. His declared opponents include Elk Grove Mayor Gary Davis and Elk Grove Planning Commissioner Kevin Spease.

The rally, which was held at Elk Grove's Fall Events Center, drew dozens of supporter who were enthusiastic in their support. Breaking from the norm, Broussard opened the presentation with a question and answer session where he fielded queries on a variety of topic regarding his candidacy and his vision for the city should he be elected (listen to entire presentation in audio link posted below).

Following the question and answer session, Broussard addressed his supporters and discussed his background, which he described as humble. He also explained what a vote from Broussard means.

"What are you voting for from Joel Broussard, you are voting simply for citizen empowerment, community ambassadors, change," he said. "I mean change like we haven't seen in years."

After thanking his supporters, Broussard asked the audience to remember the date.

"I want you guys to remember May 13th, 2016 because this is just the start of something that I assure you will go on to bigger things, it going to go on to better things," he said. "I appreciate you coming along for the journey."
