Sacramento County will present the 11th annual California Capital Airshow Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1-2 at Mather Airport. The popular event features the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, The Blue Angels, as its headlining act. The Blue Angels are celebrating their 70th anniversary and have thrilled and inspired more than 484 million spectators.

Audiences of all ages can enjoy sky-high aerobatic feats performed by the Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 tactical demonstration, U.S. Air Force F-16 Viper Demonstration Team, and U.S. Air Force Heritage Flight Team flying in formation as a living memorial to those who have served their country. Flying performances will honor the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor, 100 years of U.S. Coast Guard Aviation and more.

In addition to the flight demonstrations, there will be exciting parachute team demonstrations, where performers will cut away a parachute on purpose as well as pass a baton at 120 mph. A 10,000 HP jet car will race a plane at 400 MPH. On the ground, the Airshow will feature aircraft displays for attendees to explore, opportunities to interact with pilots and crewmembers and experience attractions and interactive educational exhibits designed to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
