Suspect Arrested by Elk Grove Police After Shooting at Relative's House, Texting Threats

A Sacramento man was arrested after he allegedly shot a window at a relative's residence in Elk Grove.

On the evening of Saturday, June 17, Elk Grove Police officers responded to the 5300 block of Privet Lane after receiving reports of a shot being fired at a window of a residence. Officer investigated the incident and verified claims that Soua Xiong, 41, had allegedly fired the shot.

The victims provided information on the whereabouts of Xiong and also were showed evidence to the officers that he sent threatening text messages to an occupant of the dwelling. Officers responded to the suspect's residence in Sacramento and located him inside his vehicle. 

After a brief struggle, Xiong was arrested. A shotgun and ammunition were found inside his vehicle. 

 Xiong was charged with shooting at an inhabited dwelling, criminal threat, and illegal possession of a firearm. After being booked into the county jail, he was released on bail.
