Two Suspects, One Previously Arrested by Elk Grove Police, in Custody on Suspicion of Possession of Stolen Car

June 29, 2017 |

Two suspects were arrested after Elk Grove Police located a reported stolen vehicle.

On the late afternoon of Wednesday, June 28, police officers found the vehicle parked in front of a residence on the 6100 block of Demonte Way. Officers made contact with the occupants of the house and determined that Andrew Jackson, 40, of Elk Grove, had been in possession of the vehicle.

Another suspect, Tagiilima Tautau, 45, was found hiding in the residence's garage and did not initially comply with police commands. Tautau, who was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant, was taken into custody.

It is not known if the location of this arrest is the same as reported in this story on problems with a dwelling located at 6101 Demonte Way. That residence had been the source of frustration for neighbors resulting in several violations issued by the City of Elk Grove's code enforcement department.

On Thursday, May 4, 2017, Tautau was arrested by Elk Grove Police on suspicion of burglary. At that time, Tautua was not immediately eligible for release because of previous charges.

Both suspects are being held at the county jail with their arraignments scheduled for Friday, June 30. Tautau is again not eligible for bail and is being held on one misdemeanor, one felony, and two probation warrants while Jackson is facing one felony charge and a $5,000 bail.
