Hwy. 99 Hit and Run Driver Arrested by Elk Grove Police After Pursuit By CHP Helicopter, Breaking Into CCSD

A San Diego man remains in custody after being pursued by a California Highway Patrol helicopter following a hit and run collision.

On Wednesday, November 23 a vehicle being driven by Mirinda Sanavogxay, 38, was observed by a CHP air unit fleeing a collision on Highway 99. Sanavogxay (pictured above) fled to the Cosumnes Community Services District's building on the 10600 block of East Stockton Boulevard.

The suspect broke into the building and allegedly tried to steal a vehicle. Responding Elk Grove Police officers located Sanavogxay inside the structure and placed him under arrest.

Sanavogxay remains in custody at the county jail and is being held on two felony charges with a bail set at $20,000.
