Victim Hides in Bathroom During Daytime Residential Burglary, Juvenile Suspect Arrested by Elk Grove Police

A student who was presumably on Thanksgiving break from school was arrested after he allegedly burglarized a house in Elk Grove.

On the early afternoon of Wednesday, November 22, Elk Grove Police responded to a call regarding an in-progress residential burglary on the 9400 block of River Springs Way. The caller, also a juvenile, observed a male suspect breaking into the residence and hid in the bathroom during the burglary. 

After burglarizing the dwelling, the suspect fled on foot and was located one mile away by responding police officers. The victim positively identified the suspect. 

The 16-year old suspect was taken into custody and booked into juvenile hall.
