Snapchat Date Ends in Armed Robbery at Elk Grove Hotel For Two Victims

Two victims intending to meet dates using the social media app SnapChat were instead robbed at an Elk Grove hotel.

At approximately 11:30 pm. on Saturday, January 20 two Elk Grove residents, whose gender was not revealed, invited an unidentified male suspect at the Extended Stay Hotel on Longport Court. Upon arrival, the victims allowed the suspect to enter the room.

The primary suspect was accompanied by two unknown suspects who entered the room at the same time. The primary suspect ordered the two victims to the floor while holding them at gunpoint while the other two stole various items belonging to the victims.

The three suspect then left the room and exited the hotel. The main suspect was described as a Hispanic male 18 to 20 years of age, and the two accomplices were Black male adults.

The case was forwarded to the investigations unit for follow-up.
