Domestic Violence Victim Granted Protective Order, Suspect Arrested by Elk Grove Police

A victim of a domestic violence incident that resulted in injuries was granted an emergency protective order.

According to Elk Grove Police, officers responded to a call regarding a domestic violence incident just before 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13. The suspect, Johnny Jacob Lara, 32, of Elk Grove allegedly pushed and punched his victim several times in the presence of children resulting in visible injuries.

After allegedly injuring his victim, Lara fled the residence before the arrival of police officers. Responding officers located Lara a short distance away and was taken into custody.

Lara is held on two felony and one misdemeanor charges and will be arraigned on Thursday, February 15. The victim was granted an emergency protective order.
