Witness Observes In-progress Burglary, Suspects Caught by Elk Grove Police

A team of suspects was apprehended after a witness saw them burglarizing an Elk Grove residence.

Just after 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 11, a witness observed two people entering a home on the 9900 block of Meadowtree Court in southeast Elk Grove. The witness saw two suspects removing property from the dwelling.

Responding Elk Grove Police officers located the suspects in individual vehicles a short distance away from the burglarized house. A record check revealed both suspects, Majestic Boyd, 38, and Rachelle Nicole Copeland, 33, both of Sacramento were on probation.

In plain view, officers observed the property stolen from the residence inside both suspect’s vehicles. Both suspects were arrested and then transported to the county jail where they remain in custody.

Boyd and Copeland are scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday, February 14.
