Voices of Elk Grove - Elk Grove Citizen Warns Council Members Against Adopting Sanctuary City Status

During their Wednesday, May 23 meeting, members of the Elk Grove City Council were warned against establishing the community as a sanctuary city.

That advice was offered by Elk Grove resident and informal political adviser to Council Member Steve Detrick and Vice Mayor Darren Suen, Randy Bekker. In his comments, Bekker said immigration policy is best left to the Federal government, and if Elk Grove adopted sanctuary city status, there would be negative political consequences for council members.
