Known Parolee Crashes Vehicle After Leading Elk Grove Police on Vehicle Pursuit

Elk Grove Police arrested a known parolee late last night after leading officers on a short vehicle pursuit.

According to information released this morning, a police officer on patrol observed a suspicious vehicle near Porta Bella Way and Porto Rosa Drive and noted the driver was a person known to be on parole.  

As the officer approached the vehicle, the driver led the officer on a short vehicle pursuit. The pursuit ended quickly when the suspect's vehicle crashed into a utility box in front of a residence on Porto Bella Way. 

The officer detained all four occupants of the vehicle, none of whom were injured. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of marijuana and alcohol. 

The three passengers were released, however, the parolee, a 19-year old Elk Grove resident, was arrested for evading police and a parole violation. The identity of the suspect has not been immedialtely released.
