Firework traffic advisory - Elk Grove's Fourth of July celebration



Independence Day Detours and Street Closures around Elk Grove Park Start at 5 p.m.
 
Elk Grove, CA – The City of Elk Grove will implement temporary traffic controls across southeast Elk Grove on Thursday, July 4th for the 23rd annual Elk Grove Salutes the Red, White & Blue event scheduled from 4 to 10 p.m. at Elk Grove Regional Park.
 
Traffic Closures & Detours: A traffic plan has been created and road closures and detours will be in effect from approximately 5 to 11:30 p.m.
 
Streets closed from 5 to 11:30 p.m.:
Southbound East Stockton Blvd. at Valley Oak Lane
Northbound East Stockton Blvd. at Elk Grove Florin Rd.
 
Streets closed from 8:00 pm to 11 p.m.:
Northbound Highway 99 exit at Elk Grove Blvd.
Southbound East Stockton Blvd. at Elk Grove Blvd.
Southbound Elk Grove Florin Rd. at Elk Grove Blvd.
 
Detours in effect from 8:30 to 11 p.m.:
Neighborhood traffic east of Elk Grove Regional Park will be directed onto northbound Elk Grove-Florin Rd. towards Bond Rd (Right turn only).
 
Northbound traffic on Elk Grove Florin Rd. will proceed northbound past Elk Grove Blvd. and continue towards Bond Rd.
 
Traffic exiting the east side of Elk Grove Regional Park will directed onto southbound Elk Grove-Florin Rd. (Right turn only) onto southbound E. Stockton Blvd. (Left turn only).  From there, motorists can proceed onto Highway 99 or Grant Line Rd.
 
Traffic exiting the west side of Elk Grove Regional Park AND westbound on Valley Oak Lane will be directed onto northbound E. Stockton Blvd. (right turn only). Drivers can proceed onto the Highway 99 on ramp.
Traffic on Valley Oak Lane (east or west) will be directed onto northbound Elk Grove-Florin Road, northbound E. Stockton Blvd. or northbound Emerald Oak.
 
Traffic exiting from the area of Hampton Oaks Drive, Union Park Way or Elkmont Drive will be directed onto southbound E. Stockton Blvd. towards Grant Line Rd.  
 
Auto Mall Area Closures from 6 to 11 p.m.:
West Stockton Boulevard will be closed in both directions between Laguna Grove Drive and 10210 West Stockton Blvd (Kaiser Permanente).
 
Ride FREE e-tran Shuttle Service to the Park:
E-Tran will run special transit service to the park on July 4 beginning at 5 p.m. The Red and Blue line will provide free service to the park every 15 minutes, compliments of the City. These routes will run continuously until 8 p.m. and will resume service at the conclusion of the event. Service from the park will depart at 10:30 p.m. from in front of the pavilion building. For ADA certified passengers, both routes may deviate or travel off route up to ¾ mile to pick up and drop off passengers. Reservations must be made at least 1 day prior to travel by calling 916-683-8726. Event transit routes and information will be available on www.e-tran.org.
 
Event Details
Admission is free, and parking is $10 per vehicle. There will be no in/out parking privileges at the Park after 3 p.m. Alcohol, personal fireworks and pets, excluding service animals, are strictly prohibited.
 
The 23rd annual Elk Grove Salutes the Red, White & Blue is presented by the City of Elk Grove in partnership with the Cosumnes Community Services District, Explore Elk Grove, Sutter Health, Republic Services, California Family Fitness, Ardent Magazine, Elk Grove Citizen, and 93.7 The River.
