Sometimes ideas work, sometimes they don't. During the Wednesday, November 13, Elk Grove City Council meeting, a concept first developed by Elk Grove Councilmember Darren Suen, was presented and bombed, and not in a good way.

The idea presented at the meeting was to rename Civic Center Drive to a name that would be comparable to the recently renamed civic center complex no known as District56. The idea was ridiculed and met with scorn by those who would be affected by the change - residents on Civic Center Drive.

After hearing compelling testimony of the adverse effects of changing the street name, the city council killed the idea. Even though video evidence shows otherwise, Suen suggested the change idea was the council's, and not his.
