Fourth candidate files paperwork for Elk Grove District 2 city council race

A fourth resident of Elk Grove's District 2 has filed a candidate intention statement with the Elk Grove City Clerk's office.

The fourth candidate, who did not list a political affiliation and submitted his statement last week is Felipe Martin. With Martin's submission, there are now four candidates indicating interest in seeking the seat occupied by Pat Hume since 2006.

Hume, who announced last year he would not seek a fifth four-year term, subsequently announced his candidacy for the District 5 seat of the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors.

Martin joins Democrats Rod Brewer and Sergio Robles and Republican Mahavir Kallirai. Martin did not disclose his political affiliation.
