St. Patrick's Day evening DUI checkpoint to be conducted by Elk Grove Police

Being one of the more popular holidays for imbibing spirits, the Elk Grove Police announced they will conduct an evening St, Partick's Day DUI checkpoint this Thursday.

The DUI and driver's license checkpoint will be conducted from 6 p.m. until 2 a.m. on Friday at an undisclosed location.

In their announcement, the police noted in 2019 nearly one-half of traffic deaths recorded nationally on March 17 were alcohol-related. They also noted impaired driving includes being under the influence of cannabis, over-the-counter drugs, and illegal drugs.
