In competitive 10th District California Assembly race, Sen. Pan assists Nguyen with API targeted mailer

Even though candidates in the 10th District California Assembly race have remained positive in their advertising, their campaigns are targeting specific audiences in hopes of gaining advantages.

In the slew of campaign literature that arrived in 10th District voters' mailboxes yesterday was a mailer from California State Senator Dr. Ricard Pan. This mailer was an envelope labeled with "Stand Up to Hate.

Inside the envelope was a letter from Pan supporting Nguyen, who is one of four candidates in the June 2022 primary. The letter extolled Nguyen's efforts as the director of a non-profit and Elk Grove City Council Member to address Anti-Asian hate.

The letter includes a glossy picture of Nguyen speaking during an anti-hate rally in March 2021, saying, "Join Stephanie and take a stand against HATE." Pan and Nguyen are Asian-American.

The letter has been sent primarily to voters identified as Asian Pacific Islanders. The letter says, "Stephnie has never stopped fighting for our community and has led the fight in our neighborhoods to stop the rise in Asian hate crimes."
