Elk Grove police investigates stabbing; seeks suspect

ELK GROVE, CA - On March 1, 2008, at 3:30 a.m., the Elk Grove Police Department responded to a fight in the 8500 block of Elk Grove-Florin Road (Crossing Apartment Complex). Upon arrival, officers discovered that 47-year-old Alan Cornelious was suffering from several stab wounds to the upper torso.

Cornelious provided information to the officers on scene that the person who stabbed him was Edward Alvidrez Jr. (DOB 12/14/1986). Officers searched the area and were unable to locate Alvidrez Jr. A weapon was recovered at the scene and Cornelious was transported to a local area hospital for treatment with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect, Edward Alvidrez Jr., is a Hispanic male, twenty-one years old (21), five feet nine inches tall, (5'9"), one hundred forty pounds (140 lbs.), with black hair and brown eyes. Edward Alvidrez Jr. has several tattoos ("Sacra" on the back of his neck / "916" on his left forearm / "4" on his left forearm / "1" on his right forearm).
