When our leader is a dunce

Every now and then, ElkGroveNews.net likes to comment on events happening outside of Elk Grove. Today is one of those days.

Today, President Bush held a news conference where the following exchanged occurred.

QUESTION: What's your advice to the average American who is hurting now — facing the prospect of $4 a gallon gasoline, a lot of people facing...

BUSH: Wait a minute. What did you just say? You're predicting $4 a gallon gas?

QUESTION: A number of analysts are predicting $4 a gallon gasoline this spring when they reformulate.

BUSH: That's interesting. I hadn't heard that.

QUESTION: Yes, sir.

BUSH: Yes. I know it's high now.

Yes that's right, the President has no idea what's happening to average Americans, not that he ever has ever been curious enough to find out or by his own admission to read newspapers.

To fully appreciate the exchange, watch the video clip and listen as the President actually sounds amazed that price could hit $4.00/gal. As usual Bush's response to this, and every economic problem we face is to make the tax cuts permanent.
