Press release from EGPD
ELK GROVE, CA – On Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at 5:52 a.m., the Elk Grove Police Department received a call regarding a burglary that was taking place in the 8500 block of Dewberry Way. A neighbor called the police department and stated that several individuals were breaking into the rear of a neighbor’s home.
Officers arrived on scene within minutes of the call, and discovered that the occupants in the residence (two juveniles 15 and 16) had been tied up. The victims indicated that the suspects had fled the residence, and at least two of the suspects were armed with firearms. The victims identified the suspects as being Asian males dressed in dark clothing, two were wearing masks. As officers began a search of the area, a white four-door BMW occupied by four Asian males was observed leaving the area. A vehicle stop was conducted a short distance away from the residence and the four individuals inside the vehicle were detained.
Based on information received and evidence recovered, the four occupants of the vehicle were arrested on suspicion of residential robbery. Officers arrested Sacramento residents Phuoc Dang (18), Rogelio Borce (19) and two teenagers (16 and 17 years of age).
At this point, the residential robbery does not appear to be related to any narcotic or gang activity. The two adult suspects were transported to the Sacramento County main jail, while the teenagers were taken to Juvenile Hall. Photos are not yet available of the adult suspects.
Detectives believe that there were additional witnesses who may have seen the suspects fleeing the area after the robbery. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the Elk Grove Police Department Detective Bureau at (916) 478-8060.
