In an e-mail sent yesterday to members of the Elk Grove Coalition Advocating Proper Planning (EGCAPP) , Elk Grove resident Steve Detrick announced his intentions to challenge incumbent city council member Mike Leary.
Detrick said he intends to formally announce his candidacy during the public comment period of tonight’s city council meeting. Tonight’s meeting starts at 6:30.
Leary, a charter member of the city council, is seeking his third term for the district 3 seat. In 2004, Leary was reelected with a little over 40% of the popular vote.
