Where are are the candidates?
With the general election just six short months away, we are anxiously awaiting the first placards. Who will be first?
Probably Leary and Schmerman as they have the most money and are the most vulnerable.
Domestic violence upswings
A daily review of the Elk Grove Police watch summary shows an unfortunate number of
domestic violence reports. Could the foreclosures problem, $4 gas and weak employment situation have anything to do with this?
Elk Grove's very own 'Joe Cool' - His future is so bright he's gotta wear shades!
Just in case you missed it, in last week's Elk Grove Citizen there was a great photo of Elk Grove council member Mike Leary during the April 23 meeting. What was interesting about the photo it showed Elk Grove's coolest cat, aka Leary the Populist, with his shades perched on his dome.
Now we're no sticks in the mud, but really Mike, grow up. What's next, a Hawiian shirt?
Isn't that something you would do in your 20's or at least when your are seen walking out of the grocery store with a 12-pack at 11 in the morning?
Glad to see your colleagues take their role on the city council serious enough to at least dress appropriately. Take a lesson slick.
Great pay, great benefits and it's in Elk Grove
Looking for a job? Well the city of Elk Grove has a great one posted for a Transit System Manager. With an annual pay range of $73,133 to $102,386, it is a sweet paying job in a city whose only real full-time jobs are retail that might pay $20,000 and might have partial benefits.
The moral of this story is that if you want high paying jobs in Elk Grove, simply expand government! Well if Cody Tubbs isn't hired as city manager, at least we know what he might end up doing.
