Future of 10 stores in Elk Grove area not known
Today there was yet another sign of the softening economy - Starbucks announced the closing of 600 under-performing stores.
Starbucks operates eight stores within Elk Grove city limits and two in adjacent areas. The company did not specify which stores will be closed.
Not surprisingly, with gas hovering around $4.50/gal., consumers seemingly can no longer have their SUV and latte too.

Take those Xmas gift Starbucks cards in NOW and demand the remaining cash be returned immeidately. Any luck and at all that will help accelerate the S'bucks closures to this week, not next week. But then there remains the Big Question? How soon will it take for the newly homeless folk tossed out of their McMansions to break into the empty S'bucks and turn them into Gypsy campsites? Call them Bushvilles.
