Press release from city of Elk Grove

ELK GROVE, CA – The City of Elk Grove is hosting the first in a series of public meetings to discuss the community’s vision for the future Elk Grove Civic Center. The first meeting will take place Tuesday, September 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Elk Grove City Hall.

More than 75 acres of land on the south side of Elk Grove Blvd. will one day be the home of a new Civic Center and community park for the City of Elk Grove. Located between Big Horn Blvd. and Laguna Springs Drive, the site includes 20 acres for a new Civic Center and more than 56 acres for a park.

The City is now beginning the public outreach and design study process, embracing this unique opportunity to create a city-defining icon. These multiple workshops will assist in determining what types of uses and amenities should be included at the Civic Center. Following the community's lead, the design team from internationally renowned Zaha Hadid will begin design studies for the Civic Center.

Extensive public outreach for the future Elk Grove Civic Center will include four public workshops, a dedicated page on the City's website, online tools to solicit public feedback and telephone surveys.

Residents who cannot attend the workshops are encouraged to view information and provide comments online.
