With cash strapped General Growth Properties unfinished strip mall looming large, can a PR campaign be far behind? Perhaps Sophia Scherman can declare it 'blighted' and give GGP a 'tax incentive' - God knows they need it!

A few weeks ago, Elk Grove city council member Sophia Scherman declared a piece of property off Highway 99 and Elk Grove Blvd blighted and summarily granted real estate developer Reynolds & Brown a multi-million dollar taxpayer funded 'incentive.'

Well if council member Scherman were to drive a mile or so south she would again see an unfinished construction site that certainly has the potential become a much bigger blight on Elk Grove - The Elk Grove Promenade.

Using Scherman's calculus, perhaps Elk Grove citizens ought to hand over the city treasury to General Properties.

In any case, the situation General Properties finds itself in is growing worse by the day. What better time for a PR campaign?

Reliable sources tell us that Randle Communications, General Properties local public relations firm, is planning a charm offense just in time for the city council election to blunt criticism of the Chicago-based mall developer and it's empty unfinished construction-ugly mall on our fair city's south side.

Perhaps this post will discourage Randle from such a mailing. On second thought, in this state of a weakened economy, a high-priced mailer might be just the thing needed to goose the local economy.
