Huber victory takes EGN imposed 'albatross' off Elk Grove Mayor Gary Davis

In the early hours of the November 5 long after the Presidential election has been determined, we here at Elk Grove News continued to post local election results and some commentary.
One of our commentaries was the following:
For two challengers in Elk Grove, an endorsement from Democrat Davis not only didn't help, but it seems to be a kiss of death.Mayor Davis quickly responded and remind us that his other endorsements won. Davis said and we posted:
First there was Davis' endorsement of Republican Jimmie Johnson. In his bid for the Cosumnes CSD. Johnson came in sixth place.
Not to be outdone, Davis also offered his endorsement to fellow Democrat Rod Brewer for the CCSD. Like Johnson, Davis' endorsement didn't help Brewer as he came in last place.
One race still to be determined is the assembly race between Allyson Huber and Jack Sieglock. If we were Huber, we would be scared.
On the contrary to your posts…A second e-mail from Davis read:
All three of my endorsed candidates were elected to the City Council. And, Gil Albiani for the CCSD.
Just in case you wish to post both sides of the story.
You should take a look at which county Huber won.Our posting continued: While Huber does appear to have won the popular Sacramento County vote, it looks like she narrowly lost the overall race to Republican Jack Sieglock. In Assembly district 15, Democrat Joan Buchanan beat Republican Abram Wilson.
I also endorsed Joan Buchanan in AD 15.
With Tuesdays stunning announcement that Democrat Alyson Huber actually defeated Republican Jack Sieglock in the race for California's 10th assembly district, Davis appears to have gone from goat to the man with the golden touch at least when it comes to his endorsements.
Never one to shy away from our, as G. W. Bush might say, misunderestimations, all we can say to Mayor Davis is, Touche'!

I live in the 15th and I got a mailer with not only Mayor Davis' face endorsing Joan Buchanan but also former Mayor Jim Cooper and Planning Commissioner Nancy Chaires.
Huber won because of her own sheer determination and of course some help from the democratic party.
I think Mayor Davis may be taking too much credit or may be receiving too much credit.
