ELK GROVE, CA – On February 20, 2009 at 4:49 p.m., the Elk Grove Police Department responded to a bank robbery that had just occurred at the Downey Savings & Loan located at 5000 Laguna Blvd.

An unidentified male approached a Downey Savings & Loan teller and handed her a note demanding money. The teller complied with the suspect’s demands and retrieved an undisclosed amount of currency, which the unidentified suspect took from the teller. The suspect then exited the bank and fled with the money in an unknown direction.

The subject was described as a white male adult, 40 to 50 years of age, 5’7”, 170 pounds with dark brown /gray hair and a goatee. The suspect was wearing a dark baseball cap, green and tan Pendleton type jacket with light colored blue jeans.

Callers to Crime Alert can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00. Tips can also be sent via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on a cell phone, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message.
