On March 8, 2009 at 10:25 p.m., the Elk Grove Police Department responded to a call regarding a single vehicle collision on Whitelock Parkway just west of Big Horn Blvd.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an overturned black 1997 Mercedes on Whitelock Parkway (north side of the street) just west of Big Horn Blvd. Officers located an unresponsive unidentified male inside the vehicle.

Medical personnel arrived and determined that the sole occupant of the vehicle was deceased. Identification of the driver will be made by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

At this point, it appears that the vehicle was traveling east on Whitelock Parkway when it crossed over the center median into the westbound lanes of traffic for an unknown reason. The driver apparently lost control of his vehicle then collided with several fixed objects before coming to rest upside down.

The collision is under investigation at this time and anyone with information is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Traffic Bureau at (916) 478-8148.
