Yesterday, for reason's other than getting a meal, I stumbled into De Vinci's Delicatessen on Elk Grove Boulevard. Although I didn't have time to enjoy a meal, I wish I had.
I met one of the friendly staff members, Randy, who urged me to sample their entrees. Rushed as I was, I'm glad I did.
Randy gave me a generous samples of their ravioli, pesto and chicken stroganoff. The samples left we wanting more time to sit down and enjoy a plate, or two!
With all the restaurant closings Elk Grove has experienced, it is a welcome sign to see one reopen. I plan to go back to De Vinci's to do a more thorough review; I urge anyone wanting some really tasty pasta to stop by too.
De Vinci's is located at 8469 Elk Grove Blvd, #7, Elk Grove, in the Wal Mart center. Hours are 10:30 am to 8:00 pm, phone (916) 683-6402.

As the grandson of Italian immigrants, I can say the pasta and the sauces are on the mark! I'll be back.
