Elk Grove DUI Suspect Caught After Fleeing On Foot

Elk Grove Police arrested two men last night after fleeing a routine traffic stop.

According to police reports, officers attempted to stop 24-year old Ashneel Mani of Sacramento for a vehicle code violation. Mani and his passenger, 26-year old Praneel Chandra of Elk Grove, abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

Officers located both men hiding in an apartment complex located near Calvine Road and Power Inn Road. Both suspects displayed object signs of impairment.

Officer arrested Chandra for a parole violation and Mani for driving under the influence. Both suspects were transferred to the county jail.
