Not So Minor Zoning Changes in Elk Grove

I hope that you will post this and let the citizens of Elk Grove know that their property rights are under attack AGAIN by the Planning Commission. This coming Thursday, June 18, 2009 the Commission will consider several amendments to the Zoning Code.

Two of the most odious are:

1.) Expansion of the Clear Vision Triangle for corner properties. This will potentially place citizens' fences and landscaping in jeopardy. Additionally, the change will outlaw anything over 30 inches tell (fences, landscaping, etc.) within the this triangle or on either side of our driveways within 15 feet of the front sidewalk.

2.) NO accessory structures (sheds, etc.) located in our side yards or withing 6 feet of any other structure (fence, house, etc.) or within 3 feet of the side or rear property lines.

There is NOTHING MINOR about these changes. They expand Government's control and interference in our individual property rights!

Citizen's can make their voices heard by attending the Planning Commission hearing below on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 6:30 PM in the City Council chambers located at 8400 Laguna Palms Way.
