Two male juvenile suspects were arrested early this morning after stealing a truck and attempting to evade police.

According to Elk Grove Police, officers were dispatched to Whitelock Parkway and Franklin Blvd at 3:26 AM in response to a report of reckless driving. Arriving on the scene, officers located the blue Dodge truck and attempted an enforcement stop.

After the patrol officers activated their emergency equipment, the vehicle fled and a short pursuit ensued. The driver lost control of the truck and collided with a sound wall on Whitlelock Parkway and Shana Way.

The driver fled on foot and was quickly apprehended while the other two occupants were detained at the scene. During the course of the investigation, officer discovered the truck had been reported stolen during a residential burglary.

Officers also determined that the driver, from Sacramento, and one of the other occupants, from Elk Grove, was wanted for questioning in the home burglary. The third suspect, from Elk Grove, was determined not have involved in the vehicle theft or burglary and released to a parent. The two other suspects were transferred to juvenile hall.

All three were treated for minor injuries at an area hospital.
