Elk Grove Residents Encouraged To Participate In National Night Out

On Tuesday, August 4, 2009, the Elk Grove Police Department will be participating in the 26th Annual National Night Out celebration. National Night Out is designed to strengthen neighborhoods, increase crime prevention awareness, develop partnerships between law enforcement and members of the community, and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.


Throughout the city of Elk Grove, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., residents are asked to spend the evening outside with neighbors, police and city officials at one of the more than 30 planned block parties. The National Night Out party is a simple way for people to meet one another, have fun and explore how they might work together to improve the safety and quality of their neighborhoods.
