Additional Freeway Closures at Sheldon Road Interchange Planned beginning August 3.

To facilitate construction progress, State Route 99 will be closed one direction at a time from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. during the period of August 3 through August 11 (subject to weather or other delays). Travelers are advised to plan alternate routes during this time.

Traffic traveling in the direction of the closed lanes will be rerouted, utilizing the on- and off-ramps for Sheldon Road. Southbound traffic will be closed August 3 through August 5. Northbound traffic will be closed August 6, 7, 10 and 11 (the existing northbound on-ramp will also be closed during this period from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., and traffic will temporarily utilize the new on-ramp). Representatives from the California Highway Patrol will direct both southbound and northbound freeway traffic.

Detour and message signs have been placed to notify drivers about the closure and detours.

The Sheldon Interchange reconstruction project remains on schedule, with completion expected in fall 2009.
