Elk Grove Police have continued to respond to a steady number of domestic violence calls. This weekend officers made arrest in two incidents.

The first incident happened on Saturday evening as 31-year old Clayton Carson of Elk Grove was involved in a verbal argument that escalated in a physical altercation. According to police reports, Carson attempted to choke the victim and when the victim attempted to call police, he destroyed the cell phone.

As the victim attempted to leave the area with personal possessions, Clayton took the possessions. When officers arrived, the suspect fled the area and tried hiding.

An officer located Carson and arrested him and was transferred to the county jail.

The second incident happened late Sunday mooring when suspect 34-year old Manolito Alcantara of Elk Grove was in a verbal argument that turned into a physical altercation.

According to police reports, the suspected struck one of the victims with a plastic hanger in the back causing visible injury. When another person tried to intervene, Alcantara struck this victim with his belt buckle causing visible injury.

The suspect was arrested and transferred to the county jail. Both victims were issued emergency protective order.

Other Arrests

According to police reports, officers made five arrest for DUI, one arrest for embezzlement, one for shoplifting and one juvenile for car theft.
