Two teenage boys were arrested yesterday morning on suspicion of burglarizing a home on Elk Grove’s north side.

According to police reports, the two 16-year old suspects attempted to enter a residence on the 8500 block of Black Kite Drive by kicking a side door. When the suspects gained entry to the garage, the alarm went off as they attempted to enter the main residence and then fled on foot.

Responding officer located one of the suspects a short distance from the residence and was taken into custody. Officers determined the other suspect came to the residence in a vehicle.

Officers contacted the mother of the second suspect and took him into custody at the address where the vehicle was registered. Both suspects were transferred to the county jail.
