Elk Grove Man Involved In Hit and Run With Fire Hydrant

An Elk Grove man was arrested Tuesday afternoon following a hit and run accident with a fire hydrant.

According to witness accounts, 46-year old Gregory Worman of Elk Grove was driving his car when he hit a fire hydrant near Aizenberg Circle and Halverson Drive . The collision caused the fire hydrant to be dislodged.

The witness was able to provide responding officers an address where the suspect had parked the vehicle. Upon contacting the suspect at his residence, officer’s noticed he displayed object signs of impairment.

Worman was arrested and transferred to the county jail.

Officer stop another in-progress burglary

Officers were able to stop and in-progress burglary Tuesday night on the 8400 block of Elk Grove-Florin Road.

Witnesses told officers the saw two suspects entering the backyard of the residence and removing a screen from a read window. After seeing the witnesses, the suspect fled on foot.

Arriving officers located the first suspect, a 17-year old Elk Grove male, a short distance away were he was arrested. The second suspect, 20-year old Alexander Ham of Elk Grove was located at his residence.

The teenager was arrested and transferred to juvenile hall. Ham was transferred to the county jail.

Other arrests

Police also made an arrest in a domestic violence incident.

According to police reports, 51-year old James Soroka of Elk Grove was involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation. Soroka allegedly grabbed his victim by the arm and in the back of the head.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, Soroka was located a short distance away where he was arrested and transferred to the county jail.

Police arrested 22-year old Sean Maloney of Sacramento late Tuesday night on suspicion of drunk driving. According to police reports, Maroney was spotted by witnesses in the drive thru lane at Carl’s Jr. restaurant on Elk Grove-Florin Road were he was arrested.
