Late yesterday the City of Elk Grove announced a construction defect was discovered on the recently completed Sheldon Road Interchange.
According to information released by the city, rubberized asphalt used in the project to reduce road noise is not performing as expected. As the city and the construction contractor investigate the cause, both will implement short-term repair strategies.
Final repairs will only be possible once temperatures increase which is expected to be in Spring, 2010. Streets affected include Sheldon Road, West Stockton Boulevard and East Stockton Boulevard. For more information, please contact the Public Works Department at 916-478-2256.
