Making good on comments made during the most recent city council meetings regarding the city’s sphere of influence application that the city’s focus should be on jobs creation and ensuring public safety, Elk Grove Council member Gary Davis will conduct a community meeting on public safety next week.

Among the items covered will be reports on crime statistics and code enforcement on foreclosed homes. Code enforcement officers will be on hand to discuss steps to take when a foreclosed home becomes problematic.

"Public safety is a concern on the minds of many Elk Grove residents. And, it is an issue that is best handled proactively and in partnership with residents and community groups," Davis said. "All are welcome to what is sure to be a productive discussion.”

Davis also plans to have a discussion about community policing and a roundtable to discuss ways to ensure neighborhood stay safe.

The meeting will be on Thursday, March 25th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Glenbrooke Community Center, 7700 Del Webb Boulveard, Elk Grove.
