An Elk Grove man was arrested early Saturday morning on suspicion of making false reports.

According to police reports, 41-year old Andrew Baima of Elk Grove calling police via 911 claiming there were four individuals with guns at his residence on the 8600 block of Rubia Drive. Several officers arrived at the residence believing there was a crime in progress.

Upon arrival, officers located the suspect but were not able to find the armed individuals. After searching the area and interview Baima, officers concluded there were never any armed individuals at the residence.

The suspect was arrested and transported to the county jail.

Four caught in Winco shoplifting incident

Police also report the arrests of four people Saturday for shoplifting the Winco store on Sheldon Road.

According to police reports, three adults and one juvenile were detained by loss prevention employees after they failed to pay for $964 worth of groceries in their shopping cart. A responding officer issued a misdemeanor citation to the 15-year old juvenile female and was released to her parents.

The other suspects, 20-year old Marqueta Goree, 19-year old Miesha Anderson and 18-year old Sonja Nash, all of Sacramento, were arrested and transported to the county jail.

In other activity, police five DUI arrests, two for public intoxication and two for domestic violence.
