MOTHER ABDUCTS SON

The Elk Grove Police Department is asking for the community’s help in locating 3-year-old Cortrele Clayton who was abducted by his biological mother.

On saturday May 15, 2010, at 12:36 p.m., officers responded to 8700 block of Elk Grove Boulevard regarding a child abduction. Upon arrival, officers contacted the reporting party who indicated that during a supervised visit, 24-year-old Latoya Washington handed her 3-year-old son Cortrele Clayton to an unidentified Hispanic male who was with her.

The unidentified male ran away with the child to an awaiting vehicle described as a 1996 Toyota Celica 2-door white in color with a license plate of 4PCZ873. Latoya Washington and the unidentified male both entered the vehicle which was driven by Latoya Washington’s mother, Antoinette Cox.

The vehicle was last seen traveling north on Emerald Vista Way. Latoya Washington does not have legal custody of the child and therefore has taken the child illegally.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Communications Center at (916) 714-5115 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357).
