Mid-day Fire Closes Five Elk Grove Eateries

A mid-day fire at the Baja Fresh Mexican Restaurant on Laguna Boulevard and Bruceville Road forced four adjacent eateries to close earlier this afternoon.

According to the Cosumnes Fire Department, the fire started in an electrical box located in the rear of the restaurant. The nearby restaurants where evacuated when smoke entered their facilities.

Thee is no estimate on the damage and when the other facilities will re-open.
