Congressman slow to comply to law enforcement officer's request
Congressman Dan Lungren’s phone call to a local radio station earlier today is developing into a mini-fire storm for the three term Gold River Republican.
Lungren, who was being interviewed by KFBK, was driving his car in suburban Washington DC when he was pulled over for speeding by law enforcement officials.
Although Lungren admitted to speeding, he reportedly refused to comply with the officer’s request to end the call.
The officer can he heard telling Lungren: "Can you hang up the phone sir? ... You need to hang that up."
The campaign staff of Lungren’s opponent in the November election, Dr. Ami Bera, seized on the situation to criticize Lungren’s reluctance to immediately comply with the officer’s request.
“Dan has lost his way. It’s time for him to hang it up,” campaign manager Lucinda Guinn said.
Lungren was reportedly not issued a citation, rather he received a warning.
The audio of the interview can be heard here.

While the International Megan's Law may be a good idea, it is my strong belief that Mr. Lungren should be more focused on changing the laws regarding Juvenile Sex Offenders located in our fair city of EG and other CA cities. Haven't heard a word from him about that...someone please update him about what's going on at home. Thailand's not going to be going to the polls, Mr. Lungren.
